Hot Chocolate is a city centre Youth Work organisation, based in Dundee, operating from The Steeple Church.
The grass outside the church has long been a meeting place for the city’s young people. So in 2001, the church went out to meet them.
Hot Chocolate began in small ways, building trust with the young people. Today Hot Chocolate responds creatively to the needs of these young people, and offers regular drop-ins, one-on-one support, music practice facilities, gigs, art workshops, filmmaking, sports, outdoor pursuits and ˜Exodus” (our summer programme).
Hot Chocolate aims to increase young people’s self-esteem and self-knowledge by giving them multiple opportunities to express themselves creatively and explore their gifts and interests, from music and visual arts to faith and morality. By giving them a voice it encourages active citizenship and community involvement. It is a place where the young people feel ‘at home’: it is where they belong, where they feel safe, and where want to be.Please browse the site and explore the project www.hotchocolate.org.uk
